Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What does Viora Counselling specialise in?

Viora Counselling provides support for ADHD, autism, burnout, anxiety, emotional regulation, complex trauma, and general counselling needs. We also focus on capacity building and strengthening day-to-day functioning.

2. Do I need a diagnosis to start counselling?

No. You do not need a formal diagnosis to begin sessions. We work with both diagnosed and undiagnosed individuals based on their lived experience and current challenges.

3. What happens in a counselling session?

Sessions are a structured but flexible space where we explore your challenges, patterns, and goals. Depending on your needs, we may focus on emotional regulation, coping strategies, behavioural patterns, or building practical daily support tools.

4. How long is each session?

Sessions typically run for 50–60 minutes.

5. How many sessions will I need?

This varies depending on your goals and situation. Some clients benefit from short-term support, while others prefer longer-term work for deeper patterns such as trauma or burnout recovery.

6. Is everything I say confidential?

Yes. All sessions are confidential, with standard legal and ethical exceptions (such as risk of harm to yourself or others, or legal requirements).

7. Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. Online counselling is available and conducted through secure video platforms, allowing you to access support from anywhere.

8. What issues can you help with?

We commonly support:

  • ADHD-related challenges (focus, overwhelm, organisation)

  • Autism-related support needs (sensory, social, executive functioning)

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Burnout and fatigue

  • Emotional regulation difficulties

  • Complex trauma patterns

  • Life transitions and general counselling

9. How do I book a session?

Sessions can be booked directly through the website via the booking/contact section. If you’re unsure, you can also reach out first to discuss fit before committing.

10. What if I’m not sure counselling is right for me?

That’s completely fine. Many clients start unsure. The first session can simply be an exploratory space to see whether the approach feels right for you.

11. Can I cancel or reschedule a session?

Yes. We ask for reasonable notice when cancelling or rescheduling. Specific policies will be outlined at the time of booking.

12. Do you work with crisis situations?

Viora Counselling is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or require urgent support, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline in your area.
